Eco Nursery

We have our own allotment that we tend and enjoy and often do projects linked to gardening. We actively encourage parents to get involved in these activities and come along as a family.

We are proud to take part in Congleton In Bloom and have won many awards four our community work and contribution to our town.

We also have a food, books and toys bank where people can donate items and we find a way to reuse these items. Example of reusing include gifting to less fortunate families, offering hand me downs and putting donated books in our nursery take a book scheme.

We teach the children to take pride and nurture their town working with and in the community to improve our town and make Congleton a better place teaching the children social values.

We believe at Friendly Faces Nursery Ltd that children should explore nature and the world around them. Friendly Faces Nursery Ltd is an Eco Nursery and holds a Green Flag Award from the RHS.

We also hold the highest level achievement for our work with the RHS schools award.

At Friendly Faces Nursery Ltd we are a plastic free nursery. That does not mean that we do not have any plastic in nursery, it means that we work to limit the plastic waste in nursery. We use eco friendly wipes, we offer a reusable nappy scheme, we reuse and repurpose plastic items rather than sending them to landfill , we don’t use items like glitter, plastic straws. We look throughout our setting to look at plastic disposible items that we can use an alternative that is better for our environment.

We won an Eco Bear award from the Congleton Bear who came to visit our setting to celebrate our work and share our work with other local businesses to encourage a plastic free town.

SPENDING TIME IN NATURE HELPS CHILDREN DEVELOP CURIOSITY, CREATIVITY AND A LIFELONG APPRECIATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT WHILE PROMOTING PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELL-BEING.
