Congleton In Bloom

Our children have been incredibly excited to take part in this yearโ€™s Congleton in Bloom Childrenโ€™s Allotment Competition! ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒป
Over the past few months, we have been exploring the fascinating topic of biodiversity, with a particular focus on bees and insects. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿž Through our curriculum, the children have learned why these tiny creatures are so important to our environment, how they help plants to grow, and what we can do to protect their habitats.
This week, we visited the Poly Tunnel to create our back-to-back garden, which is our entry into the competition. The children loved getting hands-on and helping to prepare the garden. One of their favourite moments was taking off their shoes and using their bare feet to gently press the soil down! ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐ŸŒฑ There were lots of giggles as they enjoyed feeling the cool, soft earth beneath their feet while working together as a team.
We carefully added the beautiful artwork the children have created throughout the project ๐ŸŽจ, along with a variety of plants and flowers that will attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒฟ Every part of the garden reflects the childrenโ€™s learning, creativity, and growing understanding of the natural world.
This project has been a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop their knowledge of biodiversity while also building important skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and caring for the environment. Watching their ideas come to life has been a fantastic experience, and they are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout this project. We are so proud of our young gardeners and canโ€™t wait to see our colourful, wildlife-friendly garden flourish over the coming weeks. ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’š
